ABOUT US

In 2021, RISE Up Basketball was created. The program is headquartered in Illinois in the County of DuPage, with practices held in Lombard at Glenbard South High School. Our players come from the greater western Chicagoland area.

What distinguishes us as a program in which you want your daughter to participate?

Each program participates in games, but RISE Up places a higher emphasis on training. We take pleasure in our demanding group workouts. These "skills and drills" sessions are currently the most affordable in basketball. We offer a minimum of two hours of ball-handling, shooting, fitness, agility, and strength training for $25 per session. We mix foundations with game-like scenarios and strenuous physical activity that mimics game circumstances. Each workout is geared toward player growth, as our ultimate objective is to take each player to the next level. Progression to the next level of achievement, competitiveness, and eventually college scholarship opportunities.

Although we never guarantee college scholarships, we have assisted over 70 players in obtaining NCAA D1/D2 scholarships and ten in obtaining NAIA scholarships. We currently have over 100 athletes who have played collegiate basketball! We are the leading girls club basketball program in Illinois.

Seasons of play with RISE Up Basketball

In general, we hold two tryouts per year, the first in the fall and the second in the spring.

  • Practices for the high school travel season begin in mid-March.

  • The initial events will take place in April, in conjunction with the spring evaluation period.

  • These teams compete in an average of eight to ten competitions every year.

  • Travel is widespread, even more so during the recruitment-heavy month of July.

  • The season concludes in July, but we frequently participate in a fall event to cap off the season.

  • At this level, attendance at practices is expected.

Local High School Season

  • Practices for the local high school season begin in late April or early May.

  • These teams compete in seven to ten tournaments beginning in late May.

  • Illinois. Wisconsin and Indiana are the most likely destinations for this group.

  • Attendance at workouts is strongly recommended.

Grade School Teams

  • Early March marks the start of practices.

  • The number of events varies by age, but we recommend at least seven.

  • Two practices each week are held, and workouts are strongly encouraged.

OUR APPROACH

Our mission is to create a fierce and competitive girls' basketball program that empowers our athletes to compete at the highest levels nationwide. We believe when players feel fully seen, heard, and respected, they can reach new skill levels, pursue personal success, and gain the confidence to express themselves on and off the court.

Our philosophy is built on a simple premise: The program is more important than any one member. When playing for Rise Up, we see players for more than just basketball players. We see our athletes as growing humans with multifaceted talents. Our goal is to inspire athletes to create a journey they are proud to walk

We define success differently than most. Wins and losses are only one piece of a player’s individual success. More importantly, though, is how your daughter feels when leaving practices, tournaments, and training sessions. If your child ends a season with new levels of confidence and skills, they are successful.

As a coaching staff, we will work to assist our players in appreciating the critical role that each must play for successful outcomes in their basketball careers. We're going to pay close attention and give our best to every player in this program to ensure she is ready to compete at the collegiate level.
